Saturday 10th Nov

Day dawned sunny & windy but we were short of an instructor due to illness so club flying only. Probably just as well as the weather wasn't the best for trial lessons. First two flights were in the sunshine, then we had the start of the grey stuff.
Big task of the day was to get the small (and by now very grubby) feral kitten out of the internals of the launch-point bus! Although it made a great deal of noise it remained un-tempted by bacon and cat munchies and fled to the engine. Brent gets the award for tenacity - he managed to extract it finally, but got very mauled in the process, then he & Jan got it back to the clubhouse where it did a runner.

When it rained the first time, the heavens opened so heavily that Graeme couldn't immediately make it back to the bus after securing the glider with other club members! The rest of us sheltered in cars or on the bus...

Luckily the edge of the cloud came through quite swiftly, after which the wind was more southerly.

Everyone got to fly, some more than once, and DVX was thoroughly cleaned twice as a side effect.

Many thanks to Bob P for winching all day, and to Jan for womaning the log. All in all a very pleasant day with friends.
