Weekend 18-19th June

Weather still very changeable, but at least not raining quite as much. We finally saw some sunshine. The 'masterpiece' of the blue loos redesign (courtesy of Paul D, original idea from Clive) was finally completed, being a sort of relaxation therapy for me (perhaps less so for Paul, unless painting solo?!?) and good fun when not contending with the rain. We have discovered that garden paint stands up to an English summer much better than indoor paint! The shower block has been referred to as the psycho loos (short for psychedelic!) but not sure the name will stick given the inferences.....

The Regionals are very close now, and competitors have started turning up with gliders and caravans to beat the rush next weekend. There has also been lots of frantic grass mowing on the airfield and bits of it look like hay fields!
Tim Fletcher had turned up to try and get some flying in with Paul in DHC, seeing as they are flying it in the competition next week. They managed some local soaring, but there was not a lot else going on. We're all still hoping that the jet stream will move and let us have some decent days.

Ian from Aboyne is back to fly with us over summer, and joined the gang for an 'after flying' drink.
