Some great soaring today at Shenington. Ridge and thermal with isolated showers, thankfully not reaching the airfield. Thanks to Bruno who ran the day. John Rogers and Dave Price had the longest flight in the K21.
3 flights were over 2 hours long.

22 May Sportability visit.
Yesterday saw the annual visit of the Sportability group. We had twelve guests, some of whom had travelled considerable distances to get here - Southend-on-Sea being the furthest. They were rewarded with good soaring conditions, and all got soaring flights. Bruno, Tim and Lech instructed, helped by David S., Andy and Charlie.

Shenington Regionals 2019 - First Pass Entry List
Hello All,
Here is the entry list for Shenington Regionals 2019. We have 32 confirmed places as there is a problem with the Google form of one entry which may be a google issue. Also note that Guy Glover and Mike Costin are both on the list but they normally fly a two seater together. I suspect this is a double entry but will not assume so until they confirm. It is very likely that Jane & Steve Nash who are first on the waiting list will get in too.
There is usually some movement on the entry list so many of those on waiting list may end up with a place. We are still accepting entries, and once we've rechecked the data we will be in contact via email in the next few days.

Saturday 10th Nov
Day dawned sunny & windy but we were short of an instructor due to illness so club flying only. Probably just as well as the weather wasn't the best for trial lessons. First two flights were in the sunshine, then we had the start of the grey stuff.
Big task of the day was to get the small (and by now very grubby) feral
kitten out of the internals of the launch-point bus! Although it made a
great deal of noise it remained un-tempted by bacon and cat munchies and
fled to the engine. Brent gets the award for tenacity - he managed to
extract it finally, but got very mauled in the process, then he &
Jan got it back to the clubhouse where it did a runner.
When it rained the first time, the heavens opened so heavily that Graeme couldn't immediately make it
back to the bus after securing the glider with other club members! The rest of us sheltered in cars or on the bus...
Luckily the edge of the cloud came through quite swiftly, after which the wind was more southerly.
Everyone got to fly, some more than once, and DVX was thoroughly cleaned twice as a side effect.
Many thanks to Bob P for winching all day, and to Jan for womaning the log. All in all a very pleasant day with friends.

** Registration Details for 2019 **
The Shenington Regionals entry will be by Google Forms. The
entry form can be found at
The form is quite simple and only a minimum amount of contact
information is needed so you don’t need to worry about registering loggers or
up-loading files. We will chase you for that later!
Please note that the entry will open at exactly
20:00 GMT on Thursday 15th November and any entries received before
this time will be excluded. (You can of course check out the form beforehand). Google
forms will time-stamp your entry to the second using their own time servers and
the entry and reserve list will be on a first come - first entered basis. If
there are multiple entries with the same time stamp we will hold a lottery to
determine priority. We will endeavour to publish the entry list on the
Shenington Regionals Site within a day or two.
The entry fee will be £220 as last year, and we ask that a
deposit of £50 is paid by 21st December, with the balance paid by 28th
February 2019.
We look forward to seeing you in 2019
